• Perceivable: Missing text alternatives for images and icons

  Inaccessible content and its shortcomings

  Images on most pages as well as the website’s icons, logo, forms, and the carousel blocks’ features lack accessible text alternatives (alt texts). Additionally, the buttons on the map of the “Public art” section’s “Explore public art” page are missing text alternatives.

• Perceivable: Some texts on the site have insufficient contrast

  The site’s captions on the white background do not reach the required minimum contrast ratio. Additionally, the “our privacy policy” link in connection with the “Subscribe to press releases” form on the “For the media” page does not meet the minimum contrast ratio.

• Perceivable: Navigation is not accessible when the site’s text size is changed

  Not all navigation links are accessible when text and content are increased by 200% and when the browser size is 1366 x 768 pixels, as required in the criteria.

• Perceivable: Not all content on the site is available at low resolutions

  The event cards listed on the “Events” page do not fit the screen in the specified resolution. For pages with long words in the heading, the long words are not fully displayed in the specified resolution.

• Perceivable: Insufficient contrast ratio of buttons and keyboard navigation

  Inaccessible content and its shortcomings

  In keyboard navigation, the search element’s close button has a contrast ratio of 1.6:1. The contrast should be at least 3:1. In some links on white backgrounds, the keyboard navigation’s contrast is 2.3:1 when it should be at least 3:1. In the footer’s newsletter keyboard navigation, the email field and checkbox’s contrast to the adjacent background is 2:1 when it should be at least 3:1.

• Operable: The map on the “Explore public art” page is inaccessible for those using a keyboard

  The buttons on the map of the “Public art” section’s “Explore public art” page cannot be used with a keyboard only.

• Operable: Focus order of the newsletter subscription form

  Inaccessible content and its shortcomings

  The newsletter subscription form does not proceed logically when navigating using a keyboard. After entering an email address, it proceeds to the “Send” button, although the checkbox below must be checked before sending the form.

  Generic buttons and links such as “Read more” are missing text describing the content of the link.

• Operable: Some pages on the site have insufficient headings

  Inaccessible content and its shortcomings

  Some pages are missing H1 headings. Each page should have one H1 heading. The “Schools and preschools” page has an accordion element without heading and content. The “Contact information” page has an empty H3 heading. Headings shouldn’t be empty.

• Operable: Visible focus indicators missing from the banner’s opening hours drop-down menu

  Inaccessible content and its shortcomings

  The button in the drop-down menu indicating the opening hours does not have a visible focus indicator when navigating using a keyboard. Additionally, a visible focus indicator is missing from the “Opening hours” button in the same menu.

• Operable: Visible focus indicator missing from the drop-down menu on the “Past exhibitions” page

  Inaccessible content and its shortcomings

  On the “Past exhibitions” page, there is no visible keyboard focus indicator in the “Choose year” drop-down menu.

• Operable: Visible focus indicator missing from the list view of the “Public art” section’s “Explore public art” page

  In the “Explore public art” page’s list view, there is no visible keyboard focus indicator in options A–Ö and Ö–A.

  The “For the media” page’s press release cards and the element for browsing previous press releases are missing visible keyboard focus indicators.
